Our Executives

Chief Executive Officer & Cofounder

Frank is an industry veteran experienced in the construction, operation and management of fiber, microwave, and cellular networks, as well as neutral colocation data centers, and news & sports content delivery via desktop and mobile clients.

He began his civilian career at Level 3 assessing intercity route diversity of installed dark fiber and lit services for major clients following successive acquisitions. From there he led the IT projects for Service Delivery that consolidated 7 acquired companies’ business processes and inventory systems. Next he led the transport design function, simultaneously eliminating 90% of defects and reducing cycle time by 90%. 

After Level 3, Frank constructed cellular networks riding microwave backbones. Later he joined Cologix, where he was responsible for all operational processes and project financial accounting. Frank founded Azimuth LLC in 2006, a consulting firm advising cable, wireless, data center, news & media, and telecom clients on their operations, finance, and information technology strategy. 

Frank earned a BS in Biology from Georgetown, an MS in Project Management from George Washington, and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Villanova. He separated from the US Air Force as a Captain in the Space & Missile career field.

Chief Operating Officer & Cofounder

Joe’s experience spans startups, technology development, government R&D, and finance. At Carma, he leads product, operations, and finance, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experience, value, and network safety.

After a brief stint with McKinsey & Co., Joe cofounded Arcanum Alloys - an advanced materials company that reengineered semiconductor processes for steel industry scale production of engineered surface alloys. At various times over six years with Arcanum, he led technology development, new product implementation/scale up, finance, business development, and strategy.

As an Air Force Captain, he led the AF Research Laboratory Material Directorate's nanotechnology program, with diverse applications spanning communications, airframes, fuels, munitions, and energy. During graduate school Joe’s research focused on novel organic electronic materials and devices for uses in optical applications.

Joe holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, a PhD in Materials Science from Princeton, a BS in Physics and Chemistry from Georgetown, and 9 patents.

Chief Revenue Officer

Phil is a communications industry veteran experienced with some of the leading edge packet-optical companies over the past decade. He has led sales regions both domestically and internationally with successful experience in new product adoption/launch, new customer growth, and software applications. He has been a sales leader for some of the fast pace start-ups as well as industry leaders including; March Networks, Cyan Inc., BTI Systems, and Ciena. Phil has a history of expanding market presence through understanding business drivers, assessing needs, and organizing successful teams. He has always followed the model of customer first and strives to help people overachieve and be successful in their roles.

Phil began his career with March Networks, a global leader in intelligent IP video solutions and sister company to MITEL. His responsibilities included building new business in financial, government, retail, and transportation markets in North America. March Networks had a successful IPO and later was acquired by Infinova. At March Networks, Phil noticed that the amount of video being deployed along with many other IP applications a network growth and modernization was on the horizon. At this point in 2010 Phil made the career move to packet optical transport with Petaluma based Cyan Inc. At Cyan he was responsible for the broadband stimulus growth, and launch of CyPortal a cloud hosted SLA application. After the IPO at Cyan he moved on to BTI Systems where he covered all markets in the Eastern USA. BTI was acquired by Juniper Networks in 2016. After the Juniper-BTI Systems acquisition he moved on to a Regional and Global Sales role for Cloud, Content and Connectivity providers at Ciena Corporation. His responsibilities included building the entire DCO and CDN customer base globally.

Phil earned a B.S. in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry from the State University of New York. Phil has volunteered as a coach for youth sports for years in his community and is a committed supporter to CureNFwithJack.

Chief Technology Officer

Jeff brings over 20 years of data experience in both relational and non-relational data systems as well as a long history of systems integrations for both customer facing and back office applications.

While working at Level3 communications, Jeff lead a team that brought together sales and CRM platforms, ordering systems, network inventory databases, reporting and workflow applications, and provisioning platforms. He has uniquely lived the inherent challenges of siloed telecommunications systems and processes.

Jeff has also used his integration experience in the retail space designing systems to integrate thousands of point-of-sale machines with a global customer base. His technical knowledge has been used to lead digital transformation in the manufacturing sector to a cloud first strategy driven by customer self-service.

Jeff earned a BS in Information Systems from the University of North Dakota while serving in a Mechanized Infantry Battalion in the Minnesota Army National Guard
